STEWART KIRWAN

Stewart Kirwan is an Australian musician specializing in trumpet, flugelhorn and vocals. He has toured the world and performed with legends such as Liza Minnelli, Elvis Costello, Michael Buble and Harry Connick Jr. Recently he completed Cantopop superstar Jacky Cheung’s “A Classic Tour”, playing 233 stadium concerts in 97 cities across 28 months.

Stewart has made a significant contribution to the Australian music scene over many decades. His solid section playing and strong backing vocals have forged him a reputation as a versatile band member, resulting in stints with much loved artists such as Leo Sayer, Marcia Hines and Jimmy Barnes, as well as Russell Crowe and his band TOFOG.

He has performed concerts and recorded albums with many of Australia’s greatest artists including Midnight Oil, Silverchair, John Farnham, Tina Arena, The Cat Empire, Jessica Mauboy, Tim Minchin, The Potbelleez, Guy Sebastian and James Morrison.

International artists Stewart has worked with include Jessie J, Kris Kristofferson, Robbie Williams, RZA, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Suzi Quatro and leading Asian stars Eason Chan, Jun Kung, Khalil Fong, Sam Lee, A-Lin and Sandy Lam.

Stewart has broad television experience on series’ including “Australian Idol”, “The Sideshow” and many others. He has also performed at Italy’s prestigious “San Remo Music Festival” and on “The Tonight Show’ in the USA. In the past few years Stewart has performed regularly on major Chinese television shows including “The Mask”, “The Singer”, “Super Vocal” and “Phantacity”.

He has also been a regular in Broadway-style pit orchestras, playing shows such as “West Side Story”, “Singing in The Rain”, “Fame”, “Priscilla Queen of the Desert”, “Saturday Night Fever”, “Burn the Floor” and “The Boy from Oz”.
